Odysseus’ Excuse

I wrote this poem a few years ago about a less-than-heroic Odysseus.

Odysseus left home

for a loaf of bread

and a gallon of milk.

He came back 10 years later

with stories of a

six-headed monster,

storms and shipwrecks,

a one-eyed giant, and

men turned to pigs.

What some guys won’t do

for a Vegas weekend.

Check out this Quiet Pages prompt about heroic writing.
