Quiet Pages, Day Fifteen: What Makes You Laugh?
Old jokes. Silly memories. Your favorite 90s sitcom. Today’s prompt is about what (or who) makes you laugh. I’m writing about the person who made me laugh the most and hardest, my dad. In fact, I remember so many of his jokes and stories, and they still make me laugh. The funniest thing about my dad was watching him try to tell one of his favorite jokes. He’d always crack himself up before he reached the punch line. That was contagiously hilarious.
The prompt: Write about what makes you laugh.
The nudge: It could be a person, a memory, or your favorite funny movie. Write about a time something happened that was so funny, you couldn’t stop laughing. Or write about how you make other people laugh. You may even want to try writing down a favorite joke.
The goal: A few funny lines will do. And even though your quiet page writing is just for you, if you write down something particularly funny, you may want to share it with someone you know who needs a good laugh.
I hope your day is filled with good humor and smiles. Thanks for writing.
