Quiet Pages, Day Thirteen: Good Enough
What happened? Fast travel. Sweet family visits. A case (or two) of some wild respiratory infection. Yes, all that and more caused my prompt train to derail. But I’m back on track with Day Thirteen. I remind myself that perfect is the enemy of good, and done is more powerful than doing.
The prompt: Good enough.
The nudge: What does “good enough” mean to you? Getting back to a practice of daily writing after an unplanned hiatus? Finishing the job on deadline, even though you would have liked to have had a few more days? Think about a current project at work or at home. What would good enough look like? After I finish today’s daily writing session, I’m going to try to “good enough” my garage, or at least one corner of my garage. That would be good enough.
The goal: We’re not looking for Nobel or even Noble prizes here. Just a gold star, maybe askew and slightly tarnished, for being good enough.
Bonus resource: Sneed and Wycoff’s To Do, Doing, Done has been my guide to achieving good enough for almost three years. Check it out (affiliate link).
