Friday Music Notes: Two Johns and The Black Moods

Thanks to my friend Kevin, I’m now listening to the Black Moods. I’ve already added the band’s song Sunshine to a few of my playlists. Crunchy guitar-powered, summer rock n’ roll. Thanks, Kevin.

Here's a blast from the past. One of the songs that popped up during my random online listening John Eddie’s Jungle Boy. At one point, Eddie was billed as the next Springsteen, Seger, or Mellencamp. When, like so many artists, he was simply the first of who he was. I had not thought about John Eddie for a long time, but when the Jungle Boy cassette was released, I played my copy nonstop. Pretty Little Rebel was my favorite song on that debut album. When's the last time you listened to John Eddie?

I'd forgotten that Eddie also released a pretty good album a few years after his debut, "Who the Hell is John Eddie?” It features the maturing sound and songs of an artist becoming more comfortable. with his talent. Here's "Everything" from that album.

Speaking of Johns who are male anthem rockers, Darkside by John Cafferty keeps haunting my ears over the PA at places like Walgreens and my local supermarket, and I don’t mind. I found out he's still touring
